Description
Ethiopia is not only the birthplace of coffee, but the largest producer of coffee in Africa. It also boasts the title of largest consumer in Africa, as well as the largest consumer globally for a producing nation (as a percentage of production) Ethiopia consumes almost 50% of all coffee it produces – only Brazil comes close to that figure. However this exotic nation produces some of the worlds most diverse and exquisite coffees.
Yirgacheffe is a district (and there is a small town of the same name) located in central southern part of Ethiopia. Grown at a high elevation of approximately 1,700 – 2, 200 meters above sea level, the coffee beans of this region (mostly of the Heirloom varietal) are considered some of the best that the country produces.

Not good. Tastes very dark and bitter. Nothing like a regular Ethiopian. Avoid if you like the light fruity floral taste.

Really lovely coffee and great service.

Hi Matthew, very sorry to hear you are unhappy with this coffee and how we roast it. We all taste things a bit differently and flavours are susceptible to so many varying elements such as grind, water and even what we have eaten before or with the drink. I am not saying this is the case just that those are things to consider. We have had a good response from many of our customers and do recognise we can’t please everyone. Again so sorry for your poor experience with our roasts.
